The man behind the music.
Hey, I'm Dale Nichols, a 34-year-old songwriter and producer hailing from Kessingland—the most easterly village in the UK, not far from Ed Sheeran's hometown in Suffolk. (If you're across the pond, think of it as a quaint spot with big musical vibes.) I've been crafting music since I was 10, starting with two cassette decks to layer guitars and experiment with melodies and harmonies—it felt like pure magic back then.
Fast-forward through local bands, studying at Access to Music College in Norwich (the same program Ed Sheeran attended), and shifting from performing guitar to full-on production with my first DAW (Reason 2.0). For over 20 years, I've honed my skills in creating hooks, beats, and melodies, but I took a break from 2019-2024 to pursue wedding photography. Now, the music bug is back stronger than ever, and everything's clicked—thanks in part to AI tools that let me polish toplines without my vocals holding me back. All the tracks on my homepage were created in the last month, and I've never had this much fun or felt this productive.
I've got a good ear for what's catchy: I play guitar and keys (enough to make it work), write lyrics that stick, and love blending genres. My inspirations? Max Martin (fellow ex-metalhead with a pop melody obsession), Timbaland, and Teddy Riley for production wizardry, plus mix masters like Dave Pensado and Serban Ghenea. Lately, I'm diving into country music, fusing it with hip-hop sampling techniques (using my own sounds) for a fresh pop vibe—think ballads, love songs, and upbeat hooks. I'm genre-agnostic and happy to write anything, but pop is where I thrive.
The music biz has always felt out of reach from my little village, but I'm changing that. No placements yet (I've never really pitched before—people don't know I exist!), but I'm all in on writing for artists, labels, and publishers. Every song here is 100% mine, ready for placements, co-writes, toplines, instrumentals, or stems. Let's connect! I'd love to make new friends, collaborate, and build something great together. Drop me a line on the Contact page if a track sparks an idea!
